Looking forward to 2009

Hello Everyone

I am sitting on the sofa having just watched the Carling Cup Football Final, my legs raised and my compression tights on to help them recover after running the Bushy Park 10km this morning.

I had a good run this morning finishing 3rd overall in a time of 38:30 minutes. I was happy with this run as I had run an hour before the race today and with 12+ hours of cycling in my legs (6 hours Thursday and 3 hours on both Friday and Saturday) and a hard training week in general my legs are definitely not what I would describe as ‘race fresh’! see Results

The season is closing in on us here in the UK and my Lanzarote Ironman is getting ever closer. I have another BIG training week ahead of me with brick sessions and LONG rides starting to come into play on regular basis.

I am really starting to feel the fitness I have gained after a Winter of steady, easy base miles and the closer I get to May and the Ironman the more I am looking forward to standing on that start line and put all of the months of hard training and hard work to use.

Today was also a good day because we saw the start of the World Superbikes start there 2009 season, so now I only have to wait for the start of the Moto GP season, the Formula One season and The British Superbike (BSB) season and on top of the triathlon season I am one happy Man!!!!!

The RG Active Training Camp is almost with us, I leave for Majorca on the 14th and the first of the clients arrive on the 16th to what will be a great two weeks of training and resting and having FUN doing something we all love, how lucky are we?

Manchester United won the Carling Cup Final, so that means Tottenham LOST, hurray!!!

Right back to something more relevant, I know there are a few of you out there that read these articles and hopefully for those of you that do, they are in some way fun, useful etc?

It is actually quite hard to think of things to write so I would like to ask people to suggest topics for me, ask me questions. I would like to know what you all like to read about, what you are not sure about or would like to know more about. If I know it I will answer, if I am not sure I will do research until I do know!

So EVERYONE that reads my BLOG and has something to say, something to ask fill in the comment box at the bottom and I will make sure that I answer everyone’s comments and questions.

I am going to finish watching the World Superbikes now and leave everyone alone. I will be back on here in a few days as I have to talk to everyone about Pacing your running and cycling because this is something that I am looking at alot right now with my Ironman approaching FAST!

Speak soon,

Stay Fit, stay Healthy and stay HAPPY!

John
