I have just got back from this years TCR09 show at Sandwon Park in Esher, Surrey. It is the first Cycling, Triathlon Expo of the year.
How has everyone been in the recent weather conditions, has everyone managed to keep up their training as i am sure a few of you have managed to scrape a day or so off work?
I have been training and I had been preparing for my first Half Marathon. Unfortunately I found out today that the event has been cancelled due to bad weather conditions making the course unsafe for runners, I am gutted!
I did come across a brand NEW product, an energy bar called ‘MULE BAR‘.
They come in some fantastic flavours and they are moist and easy to eat which when you are riding or running is very important. The list of flavours include, Mango Tango, Hunza Nut, Pincolada, Chocolate Fig Fiesta, Liquorice AllSport (my personal favourite) and Strudel.
All the bars are made from 100% Natural Ingredients and tasting as good as they do……. I will let you decide. I am hoping to get something sorted out for RG Active Customers so keep your eyes on the Website and I will let you know!
I also got to catch up with Chrissie Wellington at the show, she was looking bronzed and fit after just coming back from Lanzarote. If you are not sure who Chrissie is you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Chrissie is Great Britain’s current and two time World Ironman Champion and currently undefeated at the Ironman Distance. She was at the show on the TYR stand signing autographs and generally having a chat with people. It was great to meet her as she has really become a star since her first win in Hawaii in 2007, she is a really nice women and a great advertisement for professional athletes everywhere.
I wish Chrissie all the best for this coming season and look forward to following her progress through 2009 and hopefully to the defence of another World Championship at Hawaii this October.
I am off to eat dinner now and will be up early to do a long run in place of the Half Marathon I should have been running. I am also off to the TCR Show again to have another snoop round and make sure I didn’t miss anything.
I am planning on running the Kingston Running Festival 16 mile run on April 5th (my Birthday) to replace the Half Marathon. It is a Humanrace event so as always it will be a fantastic event and although a little close to my Ironman, it will be a good run to see how I am going ready for Lanzarote!
If anyone is going to the show tomorrow I will see you there, if not I will catch up with you soon.
And if you are reading this Victoria, I saw you at the show, I waved and you completely missed me and walked on by!
