CHOOSE YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE

Have you ever wanted to know what it is like to be a professional athlete?

One of the main differences that sets the professional athletes apart from everyone else is the time they get for recovery. After a long and/or hard training session most of you have to go to work, go do the shopping, take the children to school, so you never really just relax and let your body completely recover afterwards.

Well on a training camp you get that time to relax. You can go out and train as hard or as long as you want and do so knowing that after the session you can go back to your hotel room and relax, take a bath, sleep and let your body prepare itself ready for the next session.

But, more importantly, it’s a chance to meet new people, see amazing scenery and make new friends!

On most our camps, we often go out for a meal to a local restaurant to relax and celebrate all the training on the last evening which isn’t included, on average this would normally cost around €30 (depending on how much you drink).

Training Nutrition: This is not provided. We do recommend you bring your own training nutrition with you, such as sports energy drink, gels & bars to use while on long training rides. While you can buy a little bit in the small sports shops, they don’t always have the brands that you may be used to.

Don’t forget to add your baggage choice when buying your flights depending on what you need.

Schedule

Each day on the cycling training camp follows a similar routine:

  • Breakfast in the hotel restaurant from 7:30am
  • Meet downstairs in the hotel bike room at 9:00am*
  • Depart the hotel at 9:30am*
  • Out on the bike most of the day with a lunch and/or coffee stop somewhere during the ride
  • An optional strength, conditioning and mobility session depending on what time we return
  • R&R time in your room before dinner
  • Massage for those who have booked
  • Meet in hotel bar for a drink/chat from 6:30pm*
  • Dinner from 7:00pm*
  • Pre-dinner drinks, re-cap of the day, Q&As and plan for following day
  • Bed time

*All times stated are subject to change depending on weather, the days route and people’s level or fatigue as well as the many other factors that the rg:active coaches take into consideration at all times during the week.

Each day the rides will be of varying distance and difficulty depending on the focus for the day, with plenty of advice on technique from climbing, descending, gearing, cadence and more.

The longest ride days have vehicle support, to carry extra nutrition, clothing or if you need to you can take a short break and re-join the ride.

Plenty of opportunity to ask coaches training and nutrition questions throughout the week.

While the riding will be challenging we also like to keep a relaxed atmosphere and do our best to make sure the rides are fun as well.

Venue

The Hotel: Our accommodation is in modern clean rooms with small kitchen facilities in each room. Buffet style breakfast and dinner are provided each morning and evening. The variety and options provided on the buffet are excellent, plenty of healthy eating options as well as comfort food options to help with recovery and to fuel your training.

Meals: Breakfast and evening meals are also included in the price, they are both buffet style meals with plenty of variety and options to choose from. Although if you like a beer or a wine with your evening meal drinks aren’t included.

Bike storage: The hotel has a secure bike storage room, ideally you should bring your own small padlock with you to lock you bike on its hanger each day, although in previous year the Hotel reception has provided one lock per room on request.

Bike mechanic & shop: There is a small shop and mechanic in the bike storage room for the basics although it’s not always open. However, there are a number of bike shops in the area a short walk away if required.

Bike Hire

Taking or renting Bikes: We recommend & prefer you bring a road bike rather than a TT bike, you will be more comfortable for the week and it is also much safer in group riding situations.

EasyJet currently charge £84 return to take your bike on the flight, you will also need your own bike bag/box to transport this in.

Bike Rental: Rental cost start around €130 for the week. We recommend using ‘Your Bike Hire’. If you want to rent a bike you need to get in touch with Martin & arrange this in advance via this link: https://yourbikehire.com/

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR RENTAL TO THE LAST MINUTE!! February & March are very busy cycling months in Majorca.

If there is no availability with Your Bike Hire, please get in touch and we can recommend an alternative provider.

It’s personal preference as to whether you take or rent a bike, some people don’t like the hassle of taking their bike, the packing and unpacking. Of course, taking your own bike means you know how it fits you and can help avoid any unexpected aches and pains from a bike you don’t know.
